“Pubic Speaking was really good for me. It actually did help me a lot. Ok, it didn’t get me more self-confidence because i already have too much hehe , but it did teach me a lesson about life.”
“Public speaking was a great experience that allowed me to be truly dependant on myself after practicing over and over again working through the problems that we encountered. It truly was a fun and extremely important life lesson to learn.”
“For me, the public speaking course, was not only enlightening, showing me techniques for speaking to a large crowd, small group or even individuals which I was previously oblivious to, but also allowed me to understand how I as an individual needed to prepare for a speech. Finally, the course also helped me control my nerves when speaking publicly. I found the tutorial very helpful, and actually, unexpectedly quite enjoyable. In my opinion, the hands on approach of Mr. Leonidas and the schools administration assisted our improvement greatly.”
Testimonials from Parents
“We were thrilled that Kyle embraced the opportunity to participate in the public speaking competition. It was a new experience for him and we were so proud of the focused attitude he adopted. He wanted to prove to himself that he could succeed. He practised endlessly! We saw him grow in confidence from one week to the next. It is important to acknowledge Mr Leonidas as the inspiring role model, who’s continued support and input gave Kyle the confidence to believe in himself. It is wonderful that the school recognises public speaking as such an important life skill and we hope that Highgate will continue to promote public speaking in the future.”

Testimonials from Educators
“Public Speaking in stills confidence and confidence contributes to character building, making one distinctly different from other persons. Character signifies the organization of life and behaviour.
The process was both rewarding and impressive. Leonidas encouraged the students while guiding them to pay attention to their perspective, interpretation, observation and learning. He coached them to stand up and talk the talk! They knew that he was there for them and that he believed in them, in doing so, all age groups were able to perform with great self- assurance. Arlette, provided instructional leadership, through effective school experiences and knowledge. The two-team members enabled this innovative project to take shape and provide our students with tools for the future.
I am looking forward to the course becoming a permanent option for School Leavers, while delighted with how the process achieved its main goal, to inspire young people.”

“At the Heritage Private School, Limassol we are indebted to Mr. Leonidas Alexandrou for his initiative, enthusiasm and professionalism in offering a Public Speaking Course to our Year 6 students over recent weeks. Mr. Leonidas coached our students, who had little or no previous experience of Public Speaking, and helped to transform them into confident, knowledgeable speakers. The course culminated in successful internal and then inter-school Public Speaking competitions for which all students were awarded prizes relating to their success.
We would like to express our thanks to Mr. Leonidas Alexandrou for all his successful efforts on behalf of our students.”

Testimonials from Psychologists
A plethora of books have been written about the art and the benefits of public speaking for children. Overall learning communication skills helps young people navigate their world and prepare for workforce, social, and family roles they will assume as young adults. The process that is required in order for a child to prepare for and present a presentation requires research, goal-setting and organization. These skills that are learnt empower a young person. Furthermore, by learning to deal with their anxiety over the unknown response of the audience allows a young person to develop self-control, self-responsibility, self-confidence and as a result this will have a confidence-building effect. Last, by having trainers acknowledge their opinions and/or arguments (whether they agree or not) in a manner that allows them to be helped in preparing and practicing for their presentation; in an environment where the rules are clear, judges are fair, and the climate is positive, allows young people to feel comfortable with and learn to deal with their strengths and weaknesses and ultimately their failures and successes.

“From his initial presentation, Mr. Leonidas, in his unique way of connecting with the students, convinced them to join the process of public speaking. Immediately students signed up for the course. It was rewarding to see our students go through different stages and to overcome their fears of standing up in front of an audience. They came to realise that public speaking is such a powerful tool and an important skill that can be learned and developed. Public speaking helped students’ personal and social life; it helped them build their self-esteem and communication skills. It was interesting to see that public speaking also helped students with their behavioural difficulties, and they seemed more content and less stressed. I believe Public speaking should be a compulsory subject in all schools because it enables students to master their leadership and interpersonal skills.”
